His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange will officially bring the Harnaschpolder waste water treatment plant in Midden-Delfland into use on Wednesday 28 March. With this plant, the purification capacity in The Hague region will be considerably expanded. The Harnaschpolder waste water treatment plant will soon be treating 75 percent of the effluent from The Hague and surrounding area.

Delfluent is a consortium of five national and international specialised companies, which is working on the design, construction, finance and management of the new waste water treatment facilities in the region of The Hague for a period of 30 years. Delfland Water Board, the public authority and employer of Delfluent, has opted for a Public Private Partnership (PPP), the first one in the Dutch water sector.

In the Harnaschpolder in Midden-Delfland, Delfluent has built an environmentally-friendly waste water treatment plant. The plant will be officially commissioned in the spring of 2007.

The existing wastewater treatment plant at Houtrustweg, in The Hague, continues to be in operation, however Delfluent will start renovation work on this plant in early 2007. The renovation work will take almost a year and a half.
